DERBYSHIRE DALES: Towns unite to oppose hike in parking fees

Representatives from Matlock, Bakewell and Ashbourne have handed petitions to Derbyshire Dales District Council to oppose plans to increase parking charges in the area.

Richard Young, Stephen Murphy and Tony Grace, of Bakewell, Matlock and Ashbourne respectively handed separate petitions – totalling nearly 9,000 – to Sandra Lamb, head of democratic services for the district council, on Friday, June 21.

Following the hand over, the group sat down with Ms Lamb to discuss their concerns.
