Derbyshire is getting ready for a white weekend - starting with as much as 15 centimetres of snow tomorrow.

The MET office say that a light dusting of snow this afternoon (Thursday) is likely to be followed by freezing temperatures overnight before the heavy snow hits during Friday - with further snow showers expected throughout Saturday and Sunday too.

Temperatures could reach as low as -5 degrees, and won’t get above freezing all weekend.

Some schools across the county could face closure tomorrow and even into Monday.

Traffic and travel on the roads and rails could be hit with delays and cancellations too.
