Ronald and Mary, who first met as pupils at Heanor Grammar School, would have been married for 68 years this month.

Isobel said: “He is greatly missed by all his family, who will remember him as a deeply caring, loving and hard-working man who always put them first.

“He was well known to many people living in Heanor, Marlpool, Shipley, Loscoe, Aldercar and Langley Mill as he delivered the milk to their doorstep every morning, seven days a week. Whenever Ronald was out and about he always enjoyed chatting with local people and his former customers. He served his community well and made many friends in the process.”
