Darley Dale guest house is one of friendliest

A Dales bed and breakfast has been named one of the friendliest on the country.

The Pines, in Eversleigh Rise, Darley Bridge, was a runner up on the AA’s Friendliest Bed and Breakfast Awards 2014, which were held in London.

Simon Numphud, head of AA hotel services, said: “The AA Bed and Breakfast Awards is a great way for us to recognise and reward the dedication, passion and hard work of B and B owners throughout the country and to highlight all that is great about staying in a B and B.”

There are three guest rooms at The Pines, which draw on the local heritage by being named after famous Derbyshire women – Florence Nightingale, Vivien Westwood and Bess of Hardwick.

Owner Cheryl Coyne has run The Pines for seven years having previously run another B and B for 19 years.

She said: “I feel honoured and extremely pleased to be nominated as a finalist in the AA Friendliest B and B Award.

“It’s great to get positive feedback from guests either directly or via websites, but this nomination makes it all worthwhile.”
