Daredevil duo take plunge for charity

General manager Craig Evans and social media and marketing assistant Sasha Brailsford completed their dive from 13,500 feet at Langar Airfield in Nottinghamshire on May 28.

The duo raised more than £1,000 for the British Lung Foundation in the process.

Craig said: “I’m pleased to say the skydive went really well.

“Although I’ve done it several times now, the thrill-factor has not reduced, and I’m glad that Sasha enjoyed her first skydive. The most important thing though is the money that we have raised for the British Lung Foundation, the work of which continues to support many people across the UK, including the victims of asbestos.

“The British Lung Foundation is one of only a few charities in the country looking after our lungs, and the research and projects it carries out are invaluable, What I find particularly impressive is the way the work focuses on both support and research, meaning it is tackling the problem from both sides. UKATA has supported the work of the British Lung Foundation for quite a while now.

“I’d just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has sponsored us so far. Everyone from the office team to UKATA members have been brilliant in supporting us with donations and I know that the team at the British Lung Foundation are really grateful. The skydive is the continuation of a positive relationship between UKATA and the British Lung Foundation. UKATA have already raised more than £3,000 from previous ventures, and have a commitment to donate 2p raised from every UKATA training certificate to the British Lung Foundation to assist with research.
