Cyclist robbed at knife point for Samsung and iPhone mobiles

Police are seeking information after a cyclist was robbed at knife point as he rode along a canal path.

Between 8pm and 8.15pm on Sunday, July 3, a 35-year-old man was cycling along the canal path between Sandiacre and Stanton, close to the footbridge which runs over the train line.

He stopped on the path to answer a call on his mobile phone when two men appeared from the bushes nearby.

One man produced a knife and demanded his Samsung phone. The victim also had an iPhone in his pocket, which the robber took.

The victim has described the man with the knife as black, in his 20s and of medium build. He had a shaved head and wore a diamond earring, black t-shirt and black Adidas tracksuit trousers.

The man he was with is white, in his 20s and with brown, cropped hair. He wore a blue Adidas tracksuit top, blue tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.

Both men ran off towards the footbridge in the direction of Stapleford.
