All traffic seems to be leading to one of the country’s most spectacular stately homes...

This year’s Chatsworth Country Fair – held at the home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire – is well underway and wowing scores of fun-seekers.

The spectacular three-day event boasts a number of attractions including classic cars, military bands, hot air balloons, sheep dog trials and a display from the Red Arrows on Saturday and Sunday.

One of the main draws for food lovers, however, is the Fine Food Village offering demonstrations from top chefs including Lesley Waters, Alan Coxon and Rachel Green, all cooking with seasonal produce sourced from the area.

Yorkshireman James Martin, currently on screen as presenter of BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen, will be on stage throughout Sunday and signing copies of his new book.

A Chatsworth House spokesman said the weekend promises to be “England’s most spectacular annual outdoor event.”

She added: “Spread over several acres of beautiful parkland on the banks of the River Derwent, England’s biggest country fair offers something for everyone.”
