Woman charged with murder and victim identified after man's body found in Derbyshire town

A woman has been charged with murder after a man’s body was found at a property in a Derbyshire town.

Tonya Crabtree, 28, of Frost Avenue, Langley Mill was arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday (April 3) after a man was found dead at a flat in the town that morning.

He has been formally identified as 33-year-old Craig Morse. Police said he suffered a fatal stab wound.

A statement from Derbyshire Police said: “Officers were called to attend a flat in Frost Avenue at around 2am on Friday 3 April and found Craig Morse, who was 33, with a fatal stab wound.

“Mr Morse’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers at this difficult time.”

Ms Crabtree was charged with murder this evening (Saturday, 4 April) and remanded into police custody.

She is due to appear in court on Monday, April 6.
