A drink-driver who told a court he would lose his job if he got a driving ban has been disqualified for 14 months.

Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard on Friday how Samuel Leivers, 22, of Penny Green, Whitwell, was spotted by police driving the wrong way around a roundabout into Tesco at Clowne.

Leivers who said he was sorry pleaded guilty to exceeding the drink-drive limit after he was tested following the incident in February.

Magistrates also fined him £230 and ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £23 victim surcharge.
