The Post Office in Ironville was targeted twice in two days last week.

Sometime between 2.40am and 3am on Tuesday, August 4, four men carrying containers and boxes attempted to kick down the door of the Post Office on Market Street in Ironville. It is believed that they drove off in a Ford Focus style vehicle after failing to gain entry.

One of the men was described as wearing a distinctive camouflage coat and jeans, while the other three wore grey hooded tops and grey jogging bottoms. All four men had their faces covered with black masks.

The following day, at around 12.30am on Wednesday, August 5, police were called after five men were seen attempting to break-in to the same post office.

Three men were also seen to attempt to kick through the door to Town Street Stores on Town Street in Pinxton at around 3.15am on August 4. They left without gaining entry.

Following the incidents, officers will be carrying out increased evening patrols and are asking residents to report suspicious activity to them on 101 or 999 if a crime is in action.
