Three arrested as Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit track them from burglary scene

Three men have been arrested at Underwood in a combined police operation following a burglary at Ilkeston.

Derbyshire Roads policing Unit have been busy around the area catching criminals as the rest of us are locked down indoors.

They arrested the men after boxing in a Ford Transit van which had been used in the burglary 20 minutes earlier.

Property was recovered in the operation which also involved armed police from Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, Erewash Response team and Nottinghamshire Police dogs unit.

The Roads policing Unit also stopped a man driving a Mercedes in Chesterfield who was wanted on suspicion of assault in Nottinghamshire.

They tweeted: “Spotted entering the town, stopped and male handed over into the capable hands of of@MansfieldCops and @NottsPoliceARV. #Crime #Teamwork@Mof @MansfieldCops and @NottsPoliceARV. #Crime.”

Earlier the roads policing unit arrested a man driving whilst disqualified, ‘drugged up’ and drunk on the M1 near Junction 29.
