Thief stole clothing, jewellery and perfume from Shirebrook's Sports Direct

Nelu Ghita, 34, of Clumber Street, Warsop, admitted the theft when he appeared before Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, June 11.

The thefts occurred on January 10 this year when Ghita entered the store and stole clothing, perfume and jewellery to the value of £161.98, court records show.

Magistrates issued a community order and ruled that Ghita must complete 60 hours of unpaid work in the community, which must be completed by June of next year.

He must also pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £90 victim surcharge.

When sentencing, magistrates took Ghita’s guilty plea into account and ruled that he can pay of the financial elements of his sentence at £10 per week starting in July. A collection order was also made by the bench.
