A bad-tempered teenager who smashed a fence panel after he had an argument during a domestic dispute has been ordered to pay £178.
Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard on Monday, August 12, how Joseph Riah Walters, 19, of Oak Crescent, Wingeworth, Chesterfield, smashed the panel following the row and caused an estimated £100 of damage.
Peter Bettany, prosecuting, said: “He was involved in a domestic argument in Wingerworth and kicked a fence panel at a garden and his foot went through and damaged it.”
Walters admitted kicking the fence because he had been angry and pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage after the incident in June.
He told the court that he has since apologised to the fence owner and repaired the damage.
Magistrates sentenced Walters to a £73 fine and ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
