A businessman who was caught with parts of a stolen Land Rover vehicle valued at £7,800 is due to be sentenced at Derby Crown Court.
Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard on Monday, August 12, how Christopher Knight, 38, of Westwood Road, Calow, Chesterfield, was caught with the vehicle’s parts, panels and engine at his garage.
Peter Bettany, prosecuting, said: “This vehicle had been stolen in April and taken to this defendant’s business and taken into parts to be used to make two new cars. The parts, panels and engine had been discovered and they were being made into a new vehicle to be sold on.”
Knight pleaded guilty to receiving stolen goods after the offence in April. He told the court: “There is no getting away from it. The vehicle was stolen.”
Magistrates committed the case to Derby Crown Court for sentencing on September 6.
