A driver was caught speeding at 76mph in a 50mph zone in Monyash.
Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard on Thursday, September 18, how Gavin Michael Nagra, 27, was spotted speeding along the A515 road by a video device.
Prosecuting solicitor Becky Allsop said: “An enforcement officer with a video device did relevant speed checks at 8.33am, on May 2, and saw a Citroen vehicle heading to Buxton which was targeted with the device at a speed of 76mph in a 50mph zone.”
Nagra, of Kirkistown Close, Alvaston, Derby, confirmed he was the driver responsible and pleaded guilty to the speeding.
He stated he accepted the consequences of his actions and that he was driving at an unacceptable speed because he was late for a work meeting.
Magistrates fined Nagra £290 and ordered him to pay £35 costs and a £29 victim surcharge.
Nagra’s licence was also endorsed with six points.
