"The smell was indescribable" Derbyshire Police seize van on M1 full of fatty oil

Police officers have been left with a foul “indescribable” smell up their nose after seizing a van full of fatty oil.

Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit stopped the van on the M1 after spotting it looking “overweight”.

A police spokesman said the driver was driving while disqualified and without insurance.

The spokesman added: “Van stopped as it looked overweight and that was confirmed upon stopping it - fat, in the form of used oil.

“The smell was indescribable. Despite the oil, the vehicle was seized.”
