Sergeant retires after three decades of policing

A High Peak Safer Neighbourhood Team sergeant has retired after three decades of policing.

Sergeant Tim Barlow began his policing career in 1983 serving in both the Royal Air Force and the Metropolitan Police, before joining Derbyshire Constabulary in 1997.

Sergeant Barlow, who was responsible for the Safer Neighbourhood areas Hope Valley, Whaley Bridge, Buxton Rural and Chapel and Chinley, served his last day on Wednesday before heading into retirement.

He said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my role and it has been rewarding to work with so many great people.

“I want to thank my own officers at Chapel for their hard work, commitment and loyalty. Finally, to the residents and citizens of the High Peak, it has been an honour and a privilege to have served you over the last 16 years.”
