Pregnant woman left shaken after men surround car and squirt 'corrosive substance' in Shirebrook

Police are appealing for witnesses after four men allegedly damaged a car in near to the Colonade Shops in Field Drive and made threats against the driver and passenger.

A man and woman were driving at around midday on Friday, August 21 when they say three or four other vehicles surrounded them.

The group of men then approached them and allegedly made threats against them, while squirting a corrosive substance on the car which damaged the paintwork.

The two victims, one of whom is heavily pregnant, were left shaken by what happened.

Four men, aged 19, 20, 22 and 24, have been arrested and released on bail.

Police are urging witnesses who saw what happened and those who have dash cam footage to get in touch by calling 101 and quoting reference 20*436405.
