FREE sat nav wipes and air fresheners with security reminders will be handed out by community safety officers.
The Bolsover Community Safety Partnership is cracking down on thefts from vehicles following a massive surge in the town – from three incidents in June to 20 in July.
A police spokesperson said that of the 20 cases, 17 involved offenders seeing items inside the vehicles and then breaking a window to take what they could see. The partnership will be at Bolsover Market Place tomorrow from 10am.
Sgt Paul Smith, said: “Setting up the stall is one of a many actions we have introduced to help deal with this issue. Others have included delivering over 2,000 crime prevention leaflets in Bolsover and issuing reminders through the Derbyshire Police and other websites.”
