Macauley Fidler sent several images of the girl, who was 17 at the time, with a friend of hers after she ended the relationship last year, Chesterfield Magistrates’ Court was told on Thursday, January 29.

Prosecuting, Sarah Haslam said the images being shared had left the teenager - who cannot be named for legal reasons - devastated.

She said: “In May last year the relationship came to an end and the defendant had issues with the relationship coming to an end.”

She said that the images were taken from a video she had sent him freely while they were still together, but he had captured stills images of the teen in a variety of naked and sexual poses and passed them onto a friend of hers in June of last year through a social media app.

“She is aware that the images have been distributed and was clearly upset,” added Mrs Haslam. “This is a matter of huge embarrassment to the complainant.”

Fidler, 20, of Hall Drive, Worksop, admitted disclosing private sexual photographs with intent to cause distress when he appeared before the court.

Defending, Ben Strelley, asked for the case to be adjourned for Probation Service reports to be prepared before formally mitigation for Fidler.

The case was put back until Thursday, February 6, and magistrates told him they were not ruling out custody.
