Man 'seriously' injured in stabbing at Buxton shop

A man has been taken to hospital with ‘serious’ injuries after a stabbing during a robbery at a Buxton shop.

Police were called to reports of a robbery at a shop in Fairfield just after 12.15pm this afternoon (Thursday, July 9).

Officers located a man with a stab wound to his chest. The man has been taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries which are described as ‘serious’.

Police have not confirmed exactly which shop the incident took place at, however a cordon has been pictured at the One Stop shop on Bench Road.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire Police said: “An investigation is in its early stages and scenes are currently in place in the Windsor Road and Victoria Park Road areas. Officers remain nearby carrying out enquiries.

“Anyone with information about this incident should contact us quoting reference number 469 of 9 July.”
