They teamed up with neighbourhood officers to stop a truck on the A6 just outside of New Mills during the early hours of Saturday, October 17, at 12.55am.

Derbyshire Constabulary said officers believed the vehicle may have been suspicious but it was not seized and no arrests were made in relation to any thefts, though two men were issued with a cannabis warning.

The vehicle was stopped as part of an operation to target and prevent crime in rural areas, which involved patrols in Hathersage, Tideswell, Baslow and Beeley.

PCSO Benjamin Morris said the vehicle had been followed before being stopped as it was believed to have had links to catalytic converter thefts.

He added: "Can you please check your security when securing your property or premises. If anybody needs crime prevention advice please come and talk to the team at one of our street meets.”
