Former Leicestershire, Warwickshire and England cricketer Darren Maddy is the Bassetlaw Umpires Association guest speaker at the December monthly meeting, which takes place at the Cuckney Cricket Centre on Saturday 6th December at 2.30 p.m.
Maddy represented England in three test matches and eight one day internationals.
He was also the very first player in the world to notch 1,000 runs in Twenty/20 cricket.
Maddy has been involved in three County Championship winning teams, Leicester in 1996 and 1998 and Warwickshire in 2012.
In addition to this he won the Twenty/20 trophy with Leicester in 2004 and 2006.
Maddy also captained Warwickshire back to Division 1 in 2008 as champions but the introduction of Twenty/20 cricket gave him a new lease of life and he was without question one of the most successful at this form of the game.
All interested parties are welcome at what should prove to be a very interesting afternoon.
