A woman who rammed her ex-partner’s home with a pick-up vehicle has been given 80 hours of unpaid work.

Chesterfield Magistrates’ Court heard on September 23 how Sally Anne Hydes, 31, knocked on her ex’s door on Derby Road, Chesterfield, before she reversed her vehicle into his home.

Prosecuting solicitor Ian Shaw told a previous hearing that a witness saw Hydes knocking and then saw the defendant reverse a pick-up into the door.

Hydes, of Wesley Avenue, Aston, Sheffield, told police she had fallen out with her partner of the time. She pleaded guilty to damaging the door after the incident in August.

The court heard she had been in dispute with her ex and he refused to answer the phone. Magistrates sentenced Hydes to a 12 month community order with unpaid work. She must also pay £1,000 compensation and a £150 court charge.
