Driver arrested after running off from scene of collision
A 29-year-old man has been arrested following a collision on Baden Powell Road in Chesterfield this morning.
At around 10.40am a Volkswagen Golf collided with a van. The driver is alleged to have abandoned the vehicle and run off towards B&Q on Spire Walk.
Police carried out a search and a man was arrested on suspicion of driving while disqualified and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
He is currently in police custody.
