Driver arrested after police use stinger to stop dangerous van in Chesterfield

A police chase through Chesterfield came to a halt when officers used a stinger to burst the suspect's tyres.

The van failed to stop and was being driven dangerously through the town in the early hours of June 5, say Derbyshire police.

Derbyshire Roads Policing unit tweeted: “Stung, all six wheels deflated and despite social media rumours suggesting he got away, the driver was arrested from the driving seat.”

The driver is alleged to have been drunk, with no licence or insurance.
