Two police cars can be seen closing in, with one of them overtaking the off-road scrambler, which caused the biker to break sharply.

As he does so, the offender can be seen pulling a front wheelie - or endo - which causes him to rear-end the Derbyshire Constabulary vehicle.

The clearly injured man then tries to limp away after coming over the handlebars, before one officer shoves him into a ditch and arrests him at the scene.

The dramatic footage has since been viewed 4,500 times since it was uploaded to Twitter by Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit on Saturday.

Sarcastically comparing the yob to the MotoGP champion, the force put: "Borrowash's answer to Valentino Rossi on his little chicken chaser decides to fail to stop for us.

"We do pursue motorcycles as they present a danger to the public. Sorts himself out with an endo. No damage to our car.

"Sore ankle and a court date for him."

Web users were also quick to mock the crook with Leanne C putting: "I didnt laugh......honest."

Ben wrote: "Hilarious....especially with the nudge into the grass Verge at the end.......I had to say sit down everytime I watched it....which was loads!! Cracking work guys!!"

Dane added: "The embarrassment of that will haunt him far more than the court costs. His mates will rip him to bits."
