Chesterfield man caught carrying knife in public

A Chesterfield man who was caught carrying a kitchen knife in public has been given a community order by magistrates.

Court records show that Anthony Nicholas Murray, 31, of Springfield Close, Danesmoor, admitted carrying a bladed article when he appeared before Derby Magistrates’ Court on June 10.

Murray committed the offence on June 8 in Windsor Walk, Hasland.

He was given a 12-month community order to include 20 activity days. He must also pay £85 costs and a £99 victim surcharge.
