Armed police used a ‘stinger’ – a spike strip - on two occasions as they tried to stop the motorist during the high-speed pursuit.

The driver then tried to run away on foot when the car came to a stop, but was caught.

Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit tweeted: “Driver high on drugs with only a provisional licence. Arrested. #Seized #NoDamage #FeelingDeflated”.
