A burglar who raided two units at a business park has been jailed.

Chesterfield magistrates’ court recently heard how Jonathan Jowle, 25, of Central Avenue, Boythorpe, Chesterfield, broke into the two units at Boythorpe Business Park.

Prosecuting solicitor Becky Allsop explained the two burglaries were at adjacent properties. She said one was found to have been entered by a smashed door and £500 worth of electrical items were stolen with some goods taken from a storage area. The unit next door had had a window broken to gain entry and a pint of milk had been moved, according to the court.

Mrs Allsop added that following a finger print check from one of the crime scenes, police tracked Jowle down to his sister’s home. Jowle pleaded guilty to the burglaries which were committed last month.

Defence solicitor Felicity Clarke said the second break-in only involved a broken window and some milk.

Jowle was committed to Derby Crown Court for sentencing on May 14 when he was jailed for 12 months.
