Thieves broke into a quarry site and made off with a haul including chainsaws, hedge trimmers and plant equipment.
The Ashwood Dale quarry site, on Bakewell Road, Buxton, was targeted between 3pm on April 26 and 1am on April 28 by thieves who broke into a container with the tools stored inside.
Among the items stolen were eight Stihl chainsaws, two Stihl hedge trimmers and two Tirfor winches.
Anyone who saw people acting suspiciously or entering the Ashwood Dale site should call PC Tom Breakwell at Buxton police on 101 or Crimestopppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
PC Breakwell said: “We want to hear from anyone who saw odd activity around those times, no matter how small, to call us.
“I’d also urge members of the public to be on the lookout for anyone selling similar items door-to-door or at places such as car boot sales, and to let us know if they have any suspicions.”
