Buxton police praise residents for helping them arrest wanted man

Police in Buxton have thanked the local community for helping them to arrest a man who was wanted for committing a public order offence in the town centre.

Officers from the Buxton Police Safer Neighbourhood Team praised members of the public for passing them information which helped police to positively identify a wanted man.

He had allegedly committed a public order offence in the town centre but was arrested for failing to appear at court for a separate matter.

In a post on Facebook the force thanked locals for their help.

"This is yet another clear example of how the community in Buxton assists us in the day to day investigations and in the apprehension of people who might frighten and abuse people.

“Your information is vital to keeping the community safe, so call us up if you feel there's something the police should know.
