“The vehicle was spotted on Commercial Road, turning onto Chantry Lane and came to a stop in Nicholson Court.
“The police officer told him he didn't have a licence and he said that he thought he got it back after six months.”
Hammer, of Nicholson Court, admitted driving without a licence and driving with no insurance.

Hide AdSpeaking in his own defence, he told the court: “I have already suffered a considerable loss - Derbyshire Constabulary seized the vehicle and sold it at auction and didn’t give me any of the money. It was worth around £7,000.
“I have a withered left leg and foot and I can’t walk down to the village centre, which is only about 300 yards, to get shopping.”
Hammer was fined £120, and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £34 victim surcharge. A further eight penalty points were added to his licence.
