Balaclava-wearing cannabis gardeners arrested on busy Derbyshire road

Derbyshire Police have arrested four ‘balaclava-wearing’ gardeners after they were caught with a cannabis grow on the M1.

Police say four people in two separate vehicles turned up at an address in West Yorkshire this morning at around 5am. The group then “started doing a spot of gardening wearing balaclavas.”

Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit described their behaviour as “very strange.”

The group were later stopped on the M1 by Derbyshire Police. Following a search of their vehicles, a cannabis crop was found in both of them and all four occupants were arrested.

A picture posted by Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit shows several waste bags stuffed full of cannabis plants in the back of the vehicles.

The force tweeted: “The four occupants of these two vehicles turned up at an address in @WestYorksPolice area about 5am then started doing a spot of gardening wearing balaclavas. Very strange behaviour.”
