Armed police called to Chesterfield bookmakers after masked robber swipes '˜significant' amount of cash

Armed officers were called to a Chesterfield bookmakers after a masked robber made off with cash from the site.

Officers swooped on Ladbrokes on Sheffield Road, Whittington Moor, just after 7.15pm on Monday, November 19.

A man had entered the shop and demanded money. He left moments later with a ‘significant quantity’ of cash.

Police would not confirm whether or not the robber was carrying a weapon.

He was dressed in dark overalls and was wearing a balaclava.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time – particularly anyone with dash cam footage or CCTV.
