81-year-old man robbed in his own home

Police are appealing for witnesses after an 81-year-old man was robbed in his own home in Walton.

The incident happened at around 6.15pm on Saturday June 16 when a man approached the victim’s house and persuaded him to give him a glass of water. The man then forced his way inside the house and stole a coat containing a wallet.

The victim managed to chase the man for a short distance, and the man dropped the coat but ran off with the wallet in the direction of Goytside Road and Factory Street.

The wallet, which is described as dark-coloured, contained a quantity of cash, a debit card, rail travel card and bus pass.
