COURT: Latest results from Chesterfield magistrates

The following people have recently appeared before the courts:

Assault

Gradie Featherstone, 19, of Top Road, Hardwick Wood, Wingerworth, Chesterfield. Pleaded guilty to assaulting a man by beating him. Fined £168 and ordered to pay £400 in compensation.

Jayne Fearn, 44, of Wingfield Road, New Tupton, Chesterfield. Found guilty of assaulting a woman by beating her. Community order made. Ordered to pay £100 compensation, £85 victim surcharge and £620 costs.

Stacey Hollingworth, 35, of Hambleton Avenue, North Wingfield, Chesterfield. Failed without reasonable excuse to comply with the supervision requirements imposed from a period of inprisonment. Admitted breach. Committed to prison for 14 days.

Dennis Robert Gorton, 31, of West Lea, Clowne. Failed to comply with the requirements of a suspended sentence order. Committed to prison for 18 weeks, suspended for 12 months. Admitted breach.

Natalie Jane Passey, 20, of Ashley Road, Barlborough. Pleaded guilty to failiing to comply with the requirements of a community order. Admitted breach. Ordered to comply with new requirements of community order. Ordered to pay £60 costs

Theft

John Thomas Dwyer, 39, of Arundel Close, Newbold, Chesterfield. Pleaded guilty to stealing a Sony CD player from a Volkswagen Polo from Town Towers & Autocare, Old Whittington. Committed to prison for seven weeks consecutive to sentenced imposed on 31/08/16, suspended for 18 months. Ordered to pay £200 compensation and costs of £400.

Mark David Slack, 34, of Stainsby Avenue, Heanor. Pleaded guilty to stealing a bottle of cider to the value of £3.09p belonging to One Stop Shop. Committed to prison for 14 days.

William Thomas Rodell Smith, 41, of Broadgorse Close, Chesterfield. Indicated plea of guilty to stealing coffee, to the value of £29.47, belonging to Co-op. Committed to prison for six weeks.

John Alan Varley, 34, of Boythorpe Road, Chesterfield. Indicated plea of guilty to stealing jewellery and games to the value of approximately £2,500 belonging to a woman. Community order made. Restraining order made. Ordered to pay £1,500 in compensation.

Shaun Anton Wragsdale, 36, of New Street, Grassmoor. Pleaded guilty to stealing a drone to the value of £49 from Asda Living. Committed to prison for eight weeks. Ordered to pay £49 compensation.

Lindsay Anne Taylor, 33, of no fixed abode. Pleaded guilty to stealing alcohol to the value of £35 belonging to B&M Bargains at Alfreton. Fined £120, ordered to pay £35 compensation a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Stacey Barnes, 26, of Fairfield Road, Buxton. Pleaded guilty to stealing cream cakes to the value of £1.78 belonging to Aldi. Committed to prison for four weeks, suspended for 12 months. Ordered to pay compensation of £1.78.

Mark Andrew Hewitt, 34, of West Lea, Clowne. Pleaded guilty to stealing Fusion razor blades to the value of £135 belonging to Wilkinsons, Clowne. Fined £80, ordered to pay £135 compensation and a victim surcharge of £30.

Criminal Damage

Jack Douglas Baldwin, 24, of no fixed abode. Pleaded guilty to damaging a cell door at Chesterfield Police Station on New Beetwell Street. Ordered to pay £100 compensation.

Alexander Charles Dennigan, 40, of Porter Street, Staveley. Pleaded guilty to damaging a picture to the value of £200 belonging to a woman. Fined £120, ordered to pay £200 compensation, a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Motoring

Kevin Ian Costello, 21, of Lower Chapel Street, Ilkeston. Pleaded guilty to driving without insurance. Fined £120, a £30 victim surcharge and costs of £85. Disqualified from holding a driving licence for six months.

Christopher Rogers, 57, of Hallowes Rode, Dronfield. Pleaded guilty to speeding. Fined £40, ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Driving record endorsed with three points.

Frances Ruth Turner, 58, of Alfreton Road, Newton. Pleaded guilty to speeding. Fined £50, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £30 and £85 costs. Three points on licence.

Ashlee James Tynan, 18, of The Leys, Little Eaton. Pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention. Fined £120, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £30 and £85 costs. Driving record endorsed with eight points.

Bethany Cook, 19, of Oliver Close, Heanor. Pleaded guilty to drink driving, namely 61 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. Fined £120, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £30 and £85 costs. Disqualified from holding a licence for 16 months.

Josh Geoffrey Bluff, 21, of Stratton Road, Bolsover. Pleaded guilty to consuming so much alcohol that the proportion in breath, namely 70 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.

Other

Wayne Lee Bostock, 41, of Poolsbrook Road, Duckmanton, Chesterfield. Pleaded guilty to being found in possession of CS Spray. Community order made. Ordered to pay £60 victim surcharge and pay £300 costs.

Dale James Tailby, 34, of Station Lane, Old Whittington. Pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress thereby. Discharged conditionally for 12 months. Ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge.

Daniel Brown, 29, of Prospect Road, Old Whittington. Indicated plea of guilty after dishonestly failing to promptly notify the Department for Work and Pensions in the prescribed manner of a change of circumstances which would affect his entitlement to Jobseeker’s Allowance, namely that he was working. Community order made. Ordered to pay £85 victim surcharge.

Callum Cooke, 18, of Chatsworth Road, Chesterfield. Pleaded guilty to sending electronic communications that were grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character. Restraining order made. Referred to Derbyshire youth offender panel for a contract having effect for nine months. Ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20.
