County’s roads to benefit from £440k repairs

Road repairs costing £440,000 will be carried out across the county in August.

The money is part of a £35million package Derbyshire County Council will spend on improving the roads over the next year.

Councillor Dean Collins, deputy cabinet member for jobs, economy and transport, said: “Improving roads and pavements in the county is one of our priorities and work that is being carried out this month will help us to achieve this.

“We are always checking which roads need improving to ensure Derbyshire has an efficient transport network which is important to the local economy.”

In Chesterfield, £240,000 will be spent on resurfacing Newbold Road and Highfield Lane. On Holymoor Road in Holymoorside, pavements will undergo £40,000 resurfacing works. The surface of the A632 Chesterfield Road in Matlock will be dressed at a cost of £85,000.
