DERBYSHIRE saw the largest fall in police officer numbers in England and Wales last year, official figures show.
The force saw a reduction of 156 officers – a 7.5 per cent fall.
Chief Constable Peter Fahy, of the Association of Chief Police Officers, which produced the report, said it was “not surprising” to see a drop in officer numbers as most police forces had seen significant cuts.
