Council debates £140,000 spend on rural housing
Members of Derbyshire Dales District Council are due to vote tonight on whether to grant cash from its capital programme to the affordable housing scheme in Youlgrave.
Peak District Rural Housing Association and East Midlands Homes applied to the authority for the cash to help them pay for the development of eight homes in the Peak community.

Hide AdAlison Clamp, development manager for the housing association, said: “The funding will make the scheme viable and it also means we will be able to enhance the houses we are building so they reach a higher eco standard.”
She said one way of achieving this would be to install energy efficiency measures.
“The housing has come about following a lot of work by people in Youlgrave with The Peak District Rural Housing Association,” Alison added.
“A group of people in Youlgrave have set up a community trust and they will effectively own the land and control how the houses are let and so forth.”
The proposal for Derbyshire Dales District Council to grant the scheme funding has been recommended for approval.
