Officers from the Dunston, Moor and St. Helens Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team held the event during lunch break at Newbold Community School on Tuesday, March 25.

PCSO Janis Naylor said: “After we held an assembly at the school on staying safe online earlier in the year, we thought it would be a good idea to hold an open session, where students could just pop in to speak us about any issues they were facing during their dinnertime break.

“We had a steady stream of youngsters who came in to say hello, and quite a lot of students wanted to talk about the role of a police officer. More surgeries are being planned, and I hope they will become more even more popular as pupils get used to us being there for the drop-in sessions.”

The team are planning a further drop-in surgery for students at the school during the May term.
