Officers were called to the A61 road between Sheepbridge industrial estate and Whittington Moor roundabout at 10.10pm on Monday.

Upon arrival, they found a mangled car.

Police said the car had hit a rock, spun around and crashed into a barrier - damaging the front of the vehicle.

A spokesman for Derbyshire's Roads Policing Unit said it was the third incident recently where rocks had been left on the busy road.
