COMPETITION: Win an apprenticeship taster at the Derbyshire Times

Now’s your chance to get a taste of what life is like in the newspaper industry.

The Derbyshire Times and Learning Unlimited, part of the Chesterfield College group, have launched a competition to find a talented young person to give an apprenticeship a try. The winner of the competition will win a two-week ‘apprenticeship taster’ with the digital team at the newspaper’s head office in Chesterfield.

Derbyshire Times are inviting anyone who will be between the ages of 18 and 24 by the start of the summer holidays*, with a passion to work in the media to enter the exciting competition. We are looking for a young person who can really make an impact with captivating articles and social media posts that get people talking.  

Apprenticeships are now offered in over 250 professions so Learning Unlimited and Derbyshire Times are getting behind the campaign to show how being an apprentice could be the right way to get the training and experience needed to kick start a huge range of careers in roles such as social media, marketing, healthcare and engineering.

To enter, email [email protected] with your name and date of birth, as well as a 300 word article with photos or video on the topic of “Derbyshire: Past, present and future” by April 15.

*You must be 18 by July 21, 2016 to enter.
