BUSINESSES and workers in north east Derbyshire and Chesterfield have stepped up and joined a new healthy workplace campaign to boost fitness, productivity and profits.

The Derbyshire Times, Derbyshire chamber of commerce and NHS Derbyshire County have set up the Workplace Challenge for companies to form teams and receive pedometers to record their workplace activity rate as they opt to walk to and from work, commute by cycle and take trips to the gym at lunch.

Those who have already signed up on the six-week scheme which enters its second week on Monday include the following: Redland Information Systems, Geldards LLP, Keelys LLP, Care Relief Team, The HR Department, Impact Apprenticeships, Brighter Directions, Derbyshire Sport, BRM Solicitors, Enable Care and Home Support, Fast-Signs, inspirepac, Derbyshire chamber of commerce and the Derbyshire Times.

The campaign aims to bring staff together, encourage team-building exercises including targeting sporting events and creating longer-term healthier work lifestyles.

To get involved please call Jon Smart at Derbyshire chamber of commerce on (01246) 207207 for free pedometers and an information pack.
