CLOWNE: Wildlife group’s plea to look after hedgehogs and birds

Group Field Officer, Jim Russell, will be showing some of his photographs of the local landscapes and wildlife at the next meeting of Clowne Wildlife Group, which will be on Saturday, April 13, at 6.30pm and will be held in the School Room of Clowne Methodist Church. Entrance is free and light refreshments are available.

Young hedgehogs are coming out of hibernation and can be helped with a spoonful of tinned dog meat as slugs and earthworms are not about because of the cold ground.

If your pet has decided to start moulting, birds such as blue tits will appreciate the hair as nesting material. A spare wire feeder near the bird table helps them find it.
