Big-hearted Clay Cross restaurant staff have organised a fundraising event to help those affected by the recent earthquake in Nepal.

The Kathmunda Gurkha Restaurant, on High Street, is hosting the buffet evening from 5pm to 11pm, on Wednesday, June 10, and money raised will be sent to help victims with food and shelter.

Managing director Bishnu Chalise said: “Money raised will be sent to Nepal as part of a fund put together by Nepalese communities around Derby and Nottingham which has been properly mobilised to provide a health camp in various earthquake affected areas.

“We also help people with food and shelter through registered charities. Seeing the conditions in Nepal is something we feel deeply in our hearts and we still have so much to do to help our people who are in need.”

Those wishing to book tables and to make donations are urged to call Mr Chalise on (01246) 866345 or 01246 251674. Buffet prices are £14.95 for adults and £6.95 for children.
