CLAY CROSS: Guild marks its 67th birthday

Clay Cross Guild celebrated its 67th birthday with cream scones and cakes made by the committee.

The chairman Margaret Kirby, presented long service awards to Eleanor Kaye and Jean Whittington, who joined on the same day 50 years ago; also to Margery Clarke and Peggy Strong for 25 years in the guild.

Plans were completed for the trip next week to Winthrop Park for afternoon tea and a look round the garden.

Members enjoyed games of bingo.

The next meeting will be on Thursday, June 20, in the Baptist Church, Clay Cross at 7pm.
