A funeral directors in Clay Cross could be transformed into a tattoo studio, if planning chiefs give it the go-ahead.

A planning application has been submitted to North East Derbyshire District Council by a man called Christopher Phillips, of Cemetery Road, Danesmoor, for the property at 42 Thanet Street.

If it gets the green light by the council’s planning committee, the tattoo studio will employ four people and it will be open 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday and bank holidays.

The plans can be viewed on the North East Derbyshire District Council website using the reference 18/00195/FL.

The application was submitted last month and the final decision on whether to approve the proposals is pending.
