Christmas tree festival is a first for Barlborough church

St James Church in Barlborough is helping the community get into the festive spirit by holding its first Christmas tree festival.

Organisations and businesses have decorated the trees for the festival which runs until December 9.

Several events will be running during the festival including an Advent carols by candlelight on Sunday, December 2, at 6.30pm and a quiz night with pie and pea supper on Tuesday, December 4, at 7pm. Tickets £5 from the church or Little School coffee shop (Tuesday and Thursday).

An evening of Dickensian music and readings will be hosted in the church on Friday, December 7, at 7pm.

A memorial carol service will be held on Sunday, December 9, at 6pm where loved ones can be remembered by the dedication of a light on a tree.
