Choir’s note of support

SINGERS from Holymoorside Choral Society have handed over £500 to help young people leaving care to live independently.

The money for Barnardo’s Leaving Care Services, Chesterfield, was raised at the choir’s Christmas concert in St John’s Church, Walton.

The choir has been raising funds for charity at Christmas for decades and try to support a local children’s charity each year.

As well as a Christmas concert they perform several other concerts throughout the year from a mixed repertoire and rehearse on Thursday evenings at Holymoorside United Reformed Church.

If anyone is interested in joining the choir, or would like to propose a charity for the choir to support this Christmas, contact the secretary on (01246) 69693 or email
